Thislogplacementinstructionsaddendumhasbeenpreparedtoassistin  
the placement of new or replacement log sets. The information provided  
here is to be used in conjunction with the Installation and Operation  
manual. Please read the Care and Operation Instructions completely  
before completing the procedures detailed in this placement guide. If  
you encounter any problems, need clarification of these instructions  
or are not qualified to properly install this log set, contact you local  
distributor or dealer.

• Do not attempt to install the logs until the ap-  
pliance installation has been completed, the  
gas line connected and tested for leaks and the  
initial burner operation has been checked out.  
• Iflogsarenotinstalledaccordingtotheloginstalla-  
tioninstructions,ameimpingementandimproper  
combustion could occur and result in soot and/or  
excessive production of carbon monoxide (co), a  
colorless, odorless, toxic gas.

• the size and position of the log set was engi-  
neered to give the appliance a safe, reliable and  
attractive flame pattern. any attempt to use a  
differentlogsetwiththeShadowdanceseriesgas  
train models, LSVFSD-ng oR LSVFSD-LP will  
void the warranty and will result in incomplete  
combustion, sooting, and poor flame quality.  
• Do not add extra logs or ornaments such as pine  
cones, vermiculite or rock wool. Using these  
added items can cause sooting.

• Do not place any lava rock on logs or burners.  
this may cause sooting. only place lava rock  
on oor of fireplace.  
The twig indicated is included in the 24" and 30" log sets only.  
The 30" log set also includes 2 ember chunks (shown in

Figure 9).  
• all warnings and precautions in the installation  
and operation manual provided with the appli-  
ance apply to these instructions.

7. Place the right top log onto rear log locating pin and the right  
front log locating pin as shown in Figure 7.

8. Place Left Top Twig (24" and 30" models only) onto corre-  
sponding notch on rear log as shown in Figure 8. The front  
of the Left Top Twig should be up against and behind the left  
top log.

9. Place the front ember bed log as shown in Figure 8.
